4 Valuable Tips to Get Back on Track!

I share a lot of high-performance insights on this blog and on social media, but I don’t ever want people to think I’ve got it all figured out. We’re all a work in progress and, yes, even I get off track as a High-Performance Coach™!

If I’m honest about the second half of 2023 I didn’t show up as my best. The reality is, I gave in to old habits, slowly, which compounded overtime until I looked at myself in the mirror a few weeks ago and said, “Who is that?” Has that ever happened to you? You don’t realize just how far off track you’ve gotten until your current situation is unrecognizable.

Rather than dwell on where you’re at, act! Here are a few tips I’ve implemented over the past few weeks and can honestly say, I look and feel like a different human. Change can happen in an instant once we face whatever we’ve been avoiding!

Clean Food

If you’ve ever experienced grief or pain, it’s comforting to reach for carbs that give you a short-term fix. If you’ve ever had a hectic schedule, it’s much easier to grab pre-made food or eat out rather than invest time in meal prep. I caught myself doing both - eating what was fast, easy, and unsatisfying in the long run! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been intentional about meal prep and tracking fruits and vegetables. I’m not a calorie counter and punishment doesn’t work for me. A mindset based on healthy, nutritious food that fuels me to have awesome energy is where I focus. I don’t diet, instead I’ve gotten back into the habit of consuming awesome healthy food, and it’s made a HUGE difference on my energy, mindset, and vibrancy.

Limit Scrolling

Scrolling crept back into my daily routine. I used it to numb feelings of stress, discomfort and grief and it wreaked havoc on my anxiety. While I “love me” a good cat video or standup comedian clip, I do my best to limit the time. A great habit if you are challenged in this area, is to put a timer on your phone. Fifteen minutes of guilt-free mindless scrolling, followed by something that your future-self will thank you for, like reading or listening to an inspirational podcast.

Workout Hard!

My coach called out my BS on this one! I was an avid runner for the first part of the year, then I had a series of circumstances that prevented me from running including an agonizing hip injury and sciatica flare up. Instead of running, I walked the dogs with my hubby, did yoga and light weights.  My coach helped me see that I was making excuses. Of course, I could still do HIIT and weight training while being mindful of my hip and back. I’m happy to report that I’m back on track, regaining muscle strength and feeling fit AF again!

Get Coached!

Having someone hold the mirror up and call me on my BS is exactly what I needed. Perhaps you need that too or perhaps you need a community to cheer you on. I’ve invested thousands of dollars over my career in personal development and coaching and have never regretted the investment in time and energy. If you’re looking to make 2024 a year where you look in the mirror and say, “Dang girl, dang dude, look at you!” then you’re in the right place! Act NOW! Join my Masterclass tomorrow!
